Limacat is Limassol’s catering operation for private homes, rented villas, and apartments — anywhere across Cyprus that isn’t a restaurant. We’ve been doing this since 2020 (six years in business at the time of writing). Catering with us is turnkey: we cook fresh on the day of your event, deliver to your venue, set up the food, serve, and clean up. You handle the guests; we handle everything else. Birthday parties — adult and kids’ — are a regular part of what we do, with a dedicated kids menu corner for the under-12 crowd, and our catering menu covers 10 to 500 guests. Catering delivery is island-wide; we cater across all of Cyprus, not just Limassol. To plan your event, call +357 966 632 48, message us on WhatsApp, or use the catering quote form on our catering page.

This guide is for hosts. It covers what’s different about birthday catering (versus a generic restaurant booking), what’s different about catering to a villa (versus a hotel ballroom), and how to plan when you’re combining both — which, in Limassol, summer to autumn, is the most common scenario we see.

Why birthday and villa catering need their own conversation

Booking a restaurant for a birthday is straightforward: they set the menu, you bring the guests, the staff handles everything from there — but at their venue, on their schedule, with their atmosphere. Catering at a villa or private home is a different proposition. The venue is yours. The atmosphere is yours. We come to you with the food, the service, and the cleanup, so the event happens at your terrace, your dining room, your pool — without you spending the day in the kitchen or the evening doing dishes.

That changes what matters at the planning stage. Quantities matter (we need to know guest counts to size the menu). Timing matters (we coordinate cooking and setup around your event schedule). Logistics matter (gate access, parking, kitchen access, indoor versus outdoor service). And the menu matters — because you’re choosing from over 100 dishes in our catering repertoire, not from a fixed restaurant menu.

The rest of this guide walks through both contexts.

Birthday catering in Limassol: what’s different about birthdays

Kids' birthday table with chicken nuggets, kids cutlets and pasta from Limacat in Limassol

Birthdays are predictable. The same questions come up most weekends: how much food for how many guests, what works for kids, what works for adults, and what about the cake?

Adult birthdays

A typical adult birthday party in Limassol is somewhere between 12 and 30 guests. Mixed crowd: family, friends, often a mix of Cypriot, Russian-speaking, and international guests. Dinner-time or late afternoon, usually at someone’s home or a rented villa.

What works well:

  • Sharing plates over individual portions. A grazing-style table — cold starters, tartlets and bruschetta, salads, hot dishes, sides — lets guests pace themselves. Plated mains create awkwardness when the timing slips by 20 minutes.
  • Variety across cuisines. Limassol’s birthday crowd is international by default. Our catering menu spans Eastern European, Italian, Indian, and Mexican — a themed evening or a mixed spread is both possible.
  • One showstopper dish. A hot meat platter (from €120 for 6 persons) or a hot fish platter (from €150) — shashlik, lula kebab, salmon, prawns, fried calamari, depending on the platter. Something the host can point at when guests arrive. Birthdays do better with a centerpiece than with twelve equally-sized items.

What we usually steer hosts away from:

  • Over-ordering on starters. Most parties under-eat the cold-plate course because everyone’s still arriving and talking.
  • Under-ordering on hot mains. People eat more main courses at birthdays than at most other events.
  • Skipping kids’ food at a “no-kids” party — there are always two or three who came anyway.

Kids’ birthdays

Children’s birthdays are a different planning problem. The guest of honor is 5 or 8 or 11, the energy peaks fast, and the food has to work for both kids and the adults who brought them.

What works:

  • A dedicated kids’ menu — chicken nuggets with fries, kids’ meat or chicken cutlets, homemade pasta, pelmeni in small portions. These are the items in our kids’ menu corner, priced and portioned for children.
  • Parallel adult food. Parents are at the party too, and they’re not eating chicken nuggets. A separate adult-friendly spread runs alongside — finger food, salads in 1kg party portions, hot mains.
  • Simple, not spicy, not unfamiliar. Save the experimentation for the adult parties.
  • A themed presentation. If the birthday has a theme — pirates, princesses, dinosaurs, football — our team can build the food presentation around it. Mention the theme at the quote stage.

For the birthday cake itself: ask us when you book. We’ll discuss what we can include and what you might want to source separately.

Villa catering in Limassol: what’s different about villas

Catering setup in a Limassol Marina apartment for a small private party

“Villa catering” in Limassol mostly means the coastal villa belt — Agios Tychonas, Germasogeia, Mouttagiaka — and the apartment towers around Limassol Marina. All of these sit within the Amathounta Municipality or the central Limassol Municipality area. Practically, each type of venue has its own quirks.

Coastal villas (Agios Tychonas, Germasogeia, Mouttagiaka)

These are short-term rentals or private homes in the hills above the coast. The good: usually plenty of space, often an outdoor terrace, sometimes a pool. The logistical points to plan around:

  • Access. Narrow streets, gated communities, and sometimes no clear number on the gate. We always confirm the exact pin or directions before the day — Google Maps gets some Germasogeia and Mouttagiaka addresses wrong.
  • Kitchen access varies. Some villas have a full kitchen we can use for final plating; some have only a microwave. We’ll ask before we plan the setup, so we bring everything we need.
  • Wind and sun on the terrace. Outdoor setups in Limassol summer mean covered platters, weighted-down napkins, and food that doesn’t melt fast. We package and present accordingly when we know it’s an outdoor event.
  • Our staff at the venue. For most catering events, our team is on-site to set up, serve, and clean up. That means you don’t need to find or coordinate separate event staff.

City and Marina apartments

Smaller spaces, usually 8–20 guests, urban context. Simpler logistics — the buildings have addresses that Maps gets right, there’s usually a doorman or a fob entry. The main constraint is space: a buffet for 20 in an 80m² apartment needs more thought about layout than the same buffet in a villa.

Pool parties and outdoor events

A few practical notes:

  • Food sitting in direct sunlight loses quality fast. Our team plans the layout to keep dishes shaded and refreshes the presentation throughout the event.
  • Hot food cools fast in air conditioning. We deliver in insulated packaging timed to your service moment and finish plating on-site.
  • For pool-adjacent events, glass is risky. We can plan a presentation in containers that work for outdoor use — mention it at the planning stage.

When villa and birthday combine: the Saturday villa-birthday in Limassol

The most common pattern we cater: someone is renting a villa in Agios Tychonas or Germasogeia for the weekend, the birthday lands on Saturday, twenty-five to forty guests, mixed adults and kids, outdoor terrace or pool. Late afternoon start, food on the table by early evening.

Here’s how that typically goes:

The villa’s birthday only feels effortless if the host stops trying to host the food. Outsource it cleanly. We handle the menu, the setup, and the cleanup; you handle the guests; your kids handle the pool.

Pricing is custom for every event — we don’t sell fixed packages. The cost depends on guest count, menu selection, format (cocktail reception versus seated dinner versus buffet), and any themed décor. We give you a fixed quote upfront with no hidden fees, and we work to your budget rather than against it.

How to plan: practical steps

The five-step process is the same as our broader private party catering workflow, but a few things specifically matter more for birthdays and villas.

Step 1: Lock the headcount before you lock the menu

Birthday RSVPs are notoriously unreliable in Limassol — people say yes and don’t come, or arrive with someone you didn’t expect. Build a small buffer (5–10%) into the order rather than guessing the exact count for the person.

Step 2: Tell us the venue type, not just the address

“Villa in Agios Tychonas with an outdoor terrace, full kitchen, can fit 30 in the dining area” is far more useful than just an address. The way we plan the menu, the setup, and the service team changes based on this.

Step 3: Confirm dietary notes in writing

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, allergies, “no pork for several guests” — whatever the mix is, we factor it in at the planning stage. Allergy notes, especially: we want them in writing, not in a casual call. Every guest should have something delicious on the table.

Step 4: Set the service time, not just the start time

A 19:00 dinner start means food on the table at 19:00 — which means our team arrives well before that to set up and plate. We’ll work backwards from your service moment when we plan the day. Confirm this with us during planning so the timing is locked.

Step 5: Talk about the theme and presentation if relevant

If the birthday has a concept — Mexican fiesta, Italian evening, kids’ dinosaur party, anniversary in a specific colour scheme — we can build the menu and the presentation around it. The earlier you mention it, the more we can plan.

What we cook for both occasions

The catering repertoire spans over 100 dishes across four cuisines: Eastern European, Italian, Indian, and Mexican. The pieces that show up most in our birthday and villa bookings:

  • Finger food and canapés: tartlets (with salmon and red caviar, with mascarpone and black caviar, with crab, mushroom julienne, guacamole), bruschetta (prosciutto and melon, smoked salmon, ricotta and truffle honey), mini cheeseburgers, mini chicken burgers, mini croissants with smoked salmon, Caprese bites.
  • Sharing platters: cold mix platter, cold meat platter, cheese platter (€30 each), fruit platter, hot meat platter (for 6 persons, with shashlik, lula kebab, and roasted pork), hot fish platter (with salmon, tuna, prawns, calamari).
  • Salads in party portions (1kg): Olivier, herring under fur coat, chicken Caesar, shrimp Caesar, cod liver salad, vinaigrette, pomegranate bracelet, mimosa, coleslaw.
  • Hot dishes: chicken or pork shashlik, lula kebab, grilled salmon steak, grilled prawns, fried calamari.
  • Skewers and snacks: pork, beef, or chicken skewers, Asian-style shrimp, grilled sausages.
  • For kids: nuggets, chicken cutlets, homemade pasta, fish cutlets, mild pelmeni.
  • Drinks: homemade mors (berry juice) and lemonade.

For dietary requirements — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, allergen-free — we have options across the menu and factor your needs in at the planning stage.

What’s included in turnkey catering

Adult birthday buffet at a Limassol home with salads, hot mains and khachapuri

When you book catering with Limacat, “turnkey” means we cover the whole event chain:

  • Menu planning with you, custom to event format, guest count, budget, and dietary needs.
  • Fresh cooking on the day of your event — no pre-made food, no shortcuts.
  • Delivery to your venue by our own team — anywhere in Cyprus.
  • Professional setup — tableware, glasses, cutlery, napkins, presentation.
  • Service staff during the event.
  • Themed décor, if you want it, built around your event concept.
  • Cleanup at the end.

You don’t have to source any of this separately.

A few honest constraints

Worth knowing at the booking stage:

  • Drinks and alcohol. Ask us when you book — we’ll tell you what we can include and what you might want to source separately.
  • The birthday cake. Discuss it with us at the quote stage. Most cakes are handled in coordination with a dedicated cake supplier; we work out the details for your event.
  • External event services. Photographers, DJs, decorators, balloon artists — these aren’t part of catering. We can sometimes suggest contacts, but it’s not our scope.

Being clear up front means no surprises on the day.

Common questions about birthday and villa catering in Limassol

How far in advance should I book?

Small events (up to 15 people): 24–48 hours is usually fine. Medium parties (15–30): 2–3 days. Larger events (30+) or any peak weekend in the summer tourism season: a week or more is much better. Themed events with custom décor — more notice is always useful.

Do you cater outside Limassol?

Yes — we deliver catering across all of Cyprus. Paphos, Larnaca, Ayia Napa, Nicosia, anywhere on the island. Our regular non-catering delivery is Limassol-only; catering is island-wide.

Do you deliver to villas in Mouttagiaka and Agios Tychonas?

Yes. Coastal villas across Limassol — Agios Tychonas, Mouttagiaka, Germasogeia — are a regular part of our catering work. Tell us the exact address and any access notes at the booking stage.

Can you handle a mixed adult + kids’ birthday?

Yes. We’ll quote a menu split between the adult spread and items from the kids menu corner. Tell us the rough split (e.g. “25 adults, 10 kids under 10”) and we’ll size it.

Do you provide tableware and service staff?

Yes. Our turnkey service includes plates, glasses, cutlery, napkins, and professional service staff. We set up, serve, and clean up so you can focus on your guests.

Can you cater a themed event — a Mexican fiesta or Italian evening?

Yes. Our menu spans Eastern European, Italian, Indian, and Mexican cuisines, and we build presentation and décor around the theme of your event.

Do you accommodate allergies and dietary preferences?

Yes — gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, vegan, and any specific allergies are factored in at the planning stage. Every guest will have something on the table.

What if the guest count changes the day before?

Tell us as soon as you know. Small changes (±2–3 people) are usually fine. Bigger changes need 24+ hours, so we can adjust the prep.

What languages do you work in?

English, Russian, and Greek. Limassol catering planning often happens across two languages in the same conversation — that’s normal for us.

How does payment work?

We quote a fixed price upfront with no hidden fees. A deposit secures your booking; the balance is due before the event. We accept bank transfers and card payments.

Do you offer discounts?

For regular clients, large events, and long-term corporate partnerships — yes. Mention it when you ask for a quote, and we’ll find the best option for your budget.
